Higgins, of Higgins& Seiter. Slightly built, with a full head of hairwithout any gray in it, his beard being only slightlytinged, he does not look a day over seventy, althoughhe is nearly eighty-four years of age, and he is at thestore every day keeping in touch with all that isgoing on. His courteous manner and kindly disposi- the money he had to invest was $15.5, the rest beingpaid by notes, which he met promptly when due. He is a thorough business man,clear-headed and far-seeing, and takes a delight inthe business. He lives with his son in a beautifulhome at Yonkers, where he is surrounded with everycomfort money can procure, but prefers to engage inmercantile affairs rather than spend his time in themore quiet pursuits to which his age entitles him. Mr. Higgins was born in Perry, N. Y., in 1828.He received a common school education, and whenhe was nineteen years old bought a half interest in adrug store in which his brother was a partner.
