Title
Cruciform Brooch
Description
English: A cast, copper alloy incomplete cruciform brooch. The rectangular head plate with rectangular wings is decorated with a wide border of deeply incised lines with an X in the centre. Three integrally cast half-round knobs with multiple collars, project from the top and sides of the head plate. The broken high arched bow has a width of 10.8mm and is decorated with incised vertical lines. On the back of the brooch, in the centre of the head plate is a single hinge with iron corrosion around it, suggesting the remains of an iron pin. The surviving length of the brooch is 30.7mm and the width is 31.8mm.
