es. The twelve contactors areshown in a row in the lower part of thediagram, and numbered consecutivelyfrom 1 to 12. By means of them theconnections are made as in the smalldiagram and the contactor table, both ofwhich are in the lower right-hand corner.The diagram is for a four-motor equip-ment, but as each pair of motors can be treated as a single motor—the motors of the pair being connectedpermanently in parallel—but two motors are shown in the smalldiagram. The contactor table enables us to determine at a glancewhich contactors are closed at each of the ten master controllerpositions. There are 12 vertical and 10 horizontal columns in thetable. By reading horizontally along any lines corresponding to acontroller step, we note by the positions of the dots the number of thecontactors in operation. For example on step 1, contactors 1,2, and8 are closed, etc. The motor circuit diagram shows the locations of thevarious contactors in the motor circuits. The locations are as follows:
