These valves are eight innumber instead of six, as in the other sizes of pumps.The intermediate valves are so designated, becauseof the fact that the low-pressure cylinder dischargesits air into the high-pressure cylinder through thesevalves, and they are therefore intermediate betweenthe low and high-pressure cylinders.
