Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde 1891 vom preußischen König Wilhelm II. verliehen. Es zeigt den Bergischen Löwen als Zeichen der früheren Zugehörigkeit zum Herzogtum Berg. Die Schlüssel erinnern an das für örtliche Wirtschaftsentwicklung wichtige Handwerk der Schlösserherstellung, welches schon in der ersten Hälfte des 16. Jahrhunderts erwähnt wurde.
