Notes Turkish dagger taken at Gallipoli by 5-285 Sgt. Geo F Hulme, Auckland Infantry Regiment, NZEF George Frederick Hulme enlisted with the 4th Reinforcements of the Auckland Infantry Regiment which left New Zealand on 17 April 1915. (His embarkation unit was the Army Service Corps). He arrived in Suez on 25 May 1915. Following his time in Egypt, Hulme went on to serve at Gallipoli and Western Europe. He was killed in action in France on 22 June 1917, aged 23, and is commemorated at the Messines Ridge (NZ) Memorial, Messines, Belgium.
