Description
English: Creator: Unidentified for Queensland Newspapers Pty. Ltd.

Location: Brisbane, Queensland.
Description: Dan Kelly, (born 1 May 1861) purported to be the brother of Ned Kelly and part of the Kelly Gang, which also included Steve Hart and Joe Byrne.
The Kelly Gang's last showdown with the police was at the Glenrowan Hotel and started on 26 June 1880 when they held patrons hostage overnight. At dawn the next morning there was a shoot out, started by Ned in his famous suit of armour. Byrne and two hostages were mortally wounded in a gun fight reportedly witnessed by six hundred spectators. The bodies of Steve Hart and Dan Kelly were burned when police set fire to the hotel and Ned was taken prisoner. DNA evidence could rewrite Australia's history books and prove two members of the infamous Kelly Gang survived the shootout at Glenrowan in Victoria, a historian believes.
Ned Kelly was captured in the shootout, which happened 125 years ago, and his brother Dan Kelly and fellow gang member Steve Hart were believed to have died in the subsequent fire. But Queensland historian Paul Tully said the bodies of Kelly and Hart were never formally identified and speculation they survived began when a man walked into the Brisbane office of The Truth newspaper in 1933 claiming to be the 'real Dan Kelly'.
