Elle sappelle le Pic de Tcneriffe. Sa hauteureft de quinze lieues, & Ton fommet finit en pointe de Diamant.Ordinairement les Vaifleaux la découvrent de cinquante ou foixantelieuès, par le fecours des Lunettes dapproche, & fi le temps eftextrêmement fêrain , elle paroift de quatre-vingt dix. Lon a crû autrefois que fon fommet avoit des bouches qui vo-miflbient des flâmes,comme le Mont ^thnaen Sicile. Aujourdhuyil nen paroift plus rien : Au contraire fa pointe eft couverte de ne-ges , & lair y eft fi froid, quon ny fçauroit monter que dans lesmois de Juillet & dAouft. Ceft de ce fommet quon découvre toutes les autres Ifles, com-me fi elles eftoient au pied de celle là. Mais fouvent on en voit uneque
