s works have often passed for theproductions of that master. A Nativity, and anAdoration of the Magi, in the church of SanGottardo, at Bergamo, especially recall Cagliari.Zucco died in 1627. ZUCCOLI, Luigi, an Italian subject painter ofthe 19th century. He was a native of Milan, anda member of the Academy there. His works,which were chiefly scenes from Italian domesticlife, won considerable popularity beyond hisnative country. He came to England in 1860,and lived here for five years : he sent a scenefrom the Revolution of 1848 at Milan to the 1862Exhibition, and also occasionally exhibited at theRoyal Academy between 1864 and 1871. Hedied at Milan, after a short illness, on January 7,1876. ZUGNL Francesco, (or Giugni,) was born atBrescia about 1559, and was a scholar of PalmaGiovine. He was inferior to his master in design,but surpassed him in impasto and colour. Heexcelled in fresco, and frequently painted figures inthe architectural perspectives of Tommaso Sandrino. He went to Italy on a pension fromthe Dresden Academy, and studied the works ofCornelius. He died at Dresden in 1864. Amonghis chief productions were cartoons for the windowsin the abbey church at Stuttgart, a drawing of Parnassus for the Leipsic Art Union, and thedecorative designs for the Loggie of the DresdenGallery. ZUNDT, Matthias, (or Zynndt,) an engraver,was born at Nuremberg in 1498, and died in 1586.He worked with both the graver and point, andproduced portraits, Scripture subjects, allegories,and crests.
