eithersex, whose likeness he did not paint. His pictureshad not only the merit of perfect resemblance, butwere designed in a grand style, and admirablycoloured. Facchetti was also an engraver, andthere are two etchings by him, which are distin-guished for their skilful and pure design ; theyrepresent a Holy Family after Raphael, and Christ bearing the Cross. FACCHINETTI, Giuseppe, a native of Ferrara,flourished in the 18th century. He was instructedby A. F. Ferrari, and was one of the pupils whochiefly helped to build up the name of the schoolto which he belonged. He painted in a vigorousand yet tender style, and achieved most of hissuccess in historical, architectural, and perspectivepaintings. His works are to be found in SantaCaterina da Siena at Ferrara, and in other churchesin that neighbourhood. FACCI, Francesco, a painter of Verona, was apupil of F. Rioci. He died in 1621.
