The lastfifteen years of his life were passed at Shalfordnear Guildford, where he died in 1901 at the ageof eighty-nine. He became very deaf as he grewold, and this deafness was one of the reasons forhis retirement, but he was very popular as araconteur down to the end of his life, as he hada wealth of anecdote, and a charming wit at hisdisposal, and ■nas one of the kindest and mostgenerous of men to children, and was always agreat favourite with them. O.C.W. EDELINCK, Gaspard FRANrois, the youiigestbrother of Gerard Edelinck, was bom at Antwerpin 1652. He was instructed by his brothers, Gerardand Jean, but did not long pursue the art of en-graving. He died in Paris in 1722, leaving behindhim no work of note, except the plate of TheDeluge, after Alessandro Veronese, which had beencon)menced by his brother Jean, and was finishedby him under the direction of Gerard Edelinck.
