22 Trochodendi'oceae. (Prantl. bei Trochodcndron '6—8, bei Ccrcidiphyllum 2—5, und sind bei Trochodendron der becherförmig hohlen Bliitenachse innen angewachsen, bei Euptelea und Cercidiphyllum gestielt; Euptelea besitzt eine auf dem Frkn. herablaufende N., die übrigen einen schma- len Gr. mit oberseitigem Narbenstreifen. Die Sa. stehen bei Cercidiphyllum zahlreich in 2 Reihen längs der Bauchnaht aufsteigend, umgewendet, mit der Mikropyle nach oben, bei Trochodendron ebenfalls Sreihig, horizontal, mit der Rhaphe einander zugewendet, bei Euptelea aber einzeln hängend mit der Mikropyle außen oben, oder wenige ab- oder schwach aufsteigend.

Cercidiphyllum und Trochodendron haben Balgfr., welche bei letzterem der fleischigen Bliitenachse eingesenkt sind; die 1 sämige Schließfr. von Eu- ptelea ist flach zusammengedrückt, von einem Flügelsaum umzogen. Das Nährgewebe ist reichlich, der E. klein. Geographische Verbreitung. Die T. gehören vorherrschend dem extratropischen Ost- und Centralasien an, erstrecken sich jedoch auch in das südliche Japan und sind im tropischen Ostindien durch eine Art vertreten.
