Description: Les figures 1, 2, 3, montrent la manière donc on commence un filet à mailles quarrées. On voit, Fig. 4 , ce filet que l'on a travaillé en mailles à losange. Mais la figure 6 démontre comment ces mailles sont ramenées à une figure quarrée. La figure 5 est le faisceau que forme l'ensemble des mailles durant qu'on travaille le filer. Consultez sur tout cela les pages 14 & 15. Nous avons tracé dans la figure 7, le plan sur lequel on travaille un filet à mailles quarrées, auquel on veut donner plus de longueur que de largeur. La figure 8 représente la manière dont on, dispose les corps legers destinés à être attachés au haut d'un filet: & dont l'effet est de tenir cette partie soulevée vers la surface de l'eau, tandis que le lest dont le pied est garni tend à attirer le reste vers le fond. Relativement à la page 12, on voit dans la figure 9, l'art d'empêcher qu'un filet ne s'allonge au-delà de la proportion qu'on juge lui convenir. La figure 10 montre la façon de border le haut & le bas d'un filet.
