It is fit for use before green fruit appears, and is an excellentsubstitute. Sow in April, in drills i foot apart; when 3 or 4 inches high, thin out in the rows to 10 inches apart,and transplant the ensuing autumn or spring to any desired situation, in a deep, rich soil. To grow the stalks toperfection, the ground must be dug and heavily manured, at least 2 feet deep. Set out the roots 3 feet aparteach way, and the following spring it will be fit for use In the fall
