Title
Early Medieval Stylus
Description
English: A copper-alloy object, possibly a stylus, and possibly of Medieval or post-medieval date. The shaft of the object is oval in section and has been broken approximately 36mm from the point. The upper part is missing. From the break, the shaft flares out and widens slightly. It then steps sharply in where the integrally-cast, circular-section point projects from the centre of the base. The point is 7.8mm long. Just above the step, on the shaft, two, diagonal, parallel lines are incised. They do not go right around the shaft, only approximately one third of the way around.
