Title
Early Medieval ingot
Description
English: Silver ingot, boat-shaped with a D shaped section, now truncated with, apparently only one half present . Hackly fracture, surface rough.

Surface metal analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate silver content for the ingot of 82% other elements detected were lead (approximately 13%) and copper. This surface analysis is likely to a slight overestimate of the silver content of the core metal as corrosion altars the surface of the ingot by preferentially leaching out baser metals such as copper and lead but the object contains more than 10 % of silver required for it to be considered as Treasure.
