Title
Early Medieval zoomorphic plate brooch
Description
English: An incomplete copper-alloy Early Medieval zoomorphic plate brooch. The body of the possible animal is sub-rectangular in plan and rectangular in cross-section. The corners of the sub-rectangular body extend outward creating the legs, the tail and the head of the animal, which are partially affected by old breaks now worn. The front face of the plate is decorated with scattered ring-and-dot marks. The back face has a single integral spring lug, placed parallel to the longitudinal line of the plate and a transverse hook at the opposite end, where the head of the animal is. The spring is missing.

It dates to AD 500-700. No parallels have been found.
