With the parliamentary authority above referred to, theSheffield Corporation commenced in 1913 to run motor-omnibus services on a number of routes within the cityand as extensions of its tramway routes outside the cityand has continued since that date as opportimity offeredto extend such system, until it has now services covering37 miles of road, of which 15 miles is within the cityboundary, and 22 miles outside the city on County Councilroads. Altogether about forty motor-omnibuses are em-ployed. At least six additional routes are contemplated,a number of which are to be put into operation as soon asa further supply of suitable onmibuses can be obtained.
