Elgin-Belvidere Construction—Ribbed Concrete-Steel Bridge over the Kishwaukee River. has been built on to an old brick building purchased with thelot and which is to be used for passenger, express and stor-age purposes. The main portion of each substation is 32x31feet in floor area and 25 feet high and there is a tower atthe rear 27x12 feet in floor area which extends 7 feet abovethe main portion of the building. The walls are of brickand rest on concrete foundations. The roots are of cinder tion is provided between the poles by means of a Brooklynstrain insulator. The wires are carried on Locke No. 606high-tension strain insulators and the poles are set with theircross-arms at an angle of 45 degrees to the line.
