It will benoted that the companys California-type standards have beenobserved. The car body is 40 feet 3% inches long, over all, and Sfeet 4 inches wide at the belt. A bulkhead divides the bodyinto halves, one of which, the smoking compartment, has ashseats and the other, the main compartment, rattan coveredseats. In all, there are seats provided for 48 passengers. The car the conductor is never more than one-half the cars lengthfrom the entering and leaving passengers. He is at this ex-treme distance only momentarily. With the center entrance,the load divides, part taking seats in each half of the car.In unloading, the movement of passengers is the opposite,and thus it is seen that the passengers at the extreme endsof the cars are but one-half a car length from the door.
