Thefore-part of the pupa is furnillied with two horns,one above and the other under the eyes. It has alfofcvenil rows of points on its back. It remains forfome weeks in the cafe ; after which the moth beginsto agitate itfelf, and the points are then of elFentialfervice, by acling as a fulcrum, upon which it may reftin its endeavours to proceed forward, and not flipback by its efforts for that purpofe.
