Era nada menos que una pieza vertical, en forma detubo, donde inoportunamente había sido colocada la reliquiasacándola déla urna ó sepulcro: pieza que tapaba y desfigura-ba todo un costado del lindo y diáfano templete gótico. Bastóleun cuarto de hora para quitar aquel pegote con unos alica-tes, y la alhaja recobró su ser y su elegancia primitiva. Otras reliquias había salvado también de la destrucción lapiedad de los pamploneses. Cuando la Sede iruniense fué restau-rada en el siglo xi y volvieron de Leyre á Pamplona los precio-sos objetos que allí se habían librado del furor de los sarrace-nos, vinieron por primera vez á la capital del reino los restos delas dos santas mártires Nunilo y Alodia, que el rey Iñigo Jiménezhabía hecho recoger hallándose en aquel famoso y antiguo Mo-nasterio con el obispo Wilesindo.
