HENDERSON'S
American Champion Pea
American Champion is one of the very best selections of the
Telephone type. We have offered this variety for many years,
and it has always given thorough satisfaction, particularly in the
private garden.
The varieties of this class are all distinguished by their extra
large pods, which are always liberally filled with Peas of great size
and of particularly good flavor. It does not come into use until near
the end of the season, and, as it grows from 4 to 5 feet high, the
vines need some support, but it well repays both the waiting and
the extra labor, for, properly cared for, it bears an extremely
bountiful crop of the most delicious Peas. (See cut.) Price,

EXTRA EARLY VARIETIES OF MEDIUM HEIGHT.
Alaska. Height, 2J4 feet. A wonderfully early, smooth, blue Pea; vines slender; pods about 3
inches long, well filled with small, smooth, blue-green Peas. The earliness and uniformity in ripening
render it desirable for an early crop. Price, 10c. pkt., 20c. pt., 35c. qt., $1.10 for 4 qts., $2.00 peck.
Ameer. Height, 2J^ feet. This resembles Alaska, the vine being vigorous, a little taller and the
pods and Peas one-third larger. It produces handsome pods containing large, blue-green, round
Peas of excellent qualitv. It is ready for use about three days later than Alaska. Price, 10c. pkt.,

SECOND, or MEDIUM EARLY VARIETIES.

• Abundance. Height, 2.4 feet. A popular variety, of strong branching habit, bearing an enormous
  

crop of rather small pods, but which are remarkably well filled with large Peas of excellent

• Everbearing. Height, 3 feet. A very prolific and continuous bearing Pea, giving it especial value
  

for summer use and for successive planting. The pods are only of average size, but the indi-
vidual Peas are extremely large, attractive in color, and incomparably rich in flavor. Price,

• Horsford's Market Garden. Height, 2.4 feet. An excellent variety for general use; the strong,
  

branching vines are literally loaded with medium sized pods, packed full of large, deliciously
flavored, dark-gTeen Peas. It is also very rugged, so that it withstands summer heat well.

"Petit-Pois" or Small French Pea. The best of the Small French Peas. It bears a heavy crop of
small, slim pods, well filled with delicious, little Peas. It is rather late, and grows 4 feet high.

• Shropshire Hero. Height, 2 J^ feet. A strong growing variety, producing medium long, handsome

Black-Eyed Marrowfat. Height, 5\i feet. Not so highly flavored as some sorts, but a very rugged

White Marrowfat. Height, 5J^ feet. Differs from the above only in the appearance of the seed.

PEAS, SUGAR or EDIBLE PODDED. The pods are cooked like String Beans; if used when about
half grown, they are deliciously tender and sweet.
