PETER HENDERSON 6..C0., IMEW YORK-

HENDERSON'S
GIANTFLOWERINQ
OSTRICH PLUME ASTERS.
■^HESE comparatively new Asters are winning entliusiastic admiration from all who
^ see them. They are so large, so beautiful, so unique in their charming grace, so
free from the formal stiffness heretofore characteristic of Asters, so different from all
other types, that we predict unparalleled popularity for this magnificent class, producing
immense double flowers, often 6 inches across, composed of very long, narrow, loosely
curled petals, suggestive of a curled ostrich plume; their graceful effect, large size and
charming colorings render the.se Asters exceptionally handsome as cut flowers, their long
stems permitting the flowers to be "vased" as artistically as Chrvsanthemums; the
plants, of candelabra habit, ai-e of strong, health.vand luxuriant growth. attaining a height
of about 18 inches, branching out freely into well-formed bushes, each plant bearing from
25 to 40 magnificent flowers. Bedded out they are exceedinglv showy. .See cut.)

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
