The designhere is a pair of double helices, the smaller ones above, with branching curvesas in the tendrils of a plant. The extremities of each part end in rose-shapedfigures, and in one place, the design opens out into a leaf form. The same motive is used for the smaller ornamentationat the sides of the gate-posts and as a finish to the cross bar, in all of whichminute and delicate workmanship is apparent.
