This song and Home, Sweet Homeprobably are the most widely knownsongs in the English language, and itis a singular coincidence that bothhave longing for home as their under-lying sentiment. Old Folks at Homehas been called the song of the home-sick and the potency of its appeal isillustrated by an anecdote.
