Description |
English: A cast solid lead alloy figurine of uncertain date, but probably Post Medieval and maybe a toy soldier. The figurine is three dimensional and anthropomorphic, probably a male. He is standing upright and looking up and to his left. His lower arms are missing. The figurine is crudely shaped and the details are not clear. He wears a rounded hat of some sort which is bulbous and projects at the back. It is possible that this is actually supposed to represent a woman's hair style. However, there seem to be straps leading from the helmet across the cheek and under the chin. He wears a bulky short tunic and knee high boots. His legs are very angular on the front, possibly damaged, and the feet are too small, possibly incomplete. His right arm is incomplete, missing from above the elbow. His left arm is bent at the elbow, but has suffered damage, being bent further than it should be. This has caused cracks and stressing of the metal. The hand is missing. There are traces of possible dark coloured paint on the upper legs. |
