Title
Finger Ring
Description
English: Copper alloy finger ring of unusual form, probably of early Post-Medieval date. The finger ring is incomplete and in two pieces, it is also considerably worn. The ring is a seal ring with a central motif which is now difficult to decipher. The bezel is oval with an internal border. The central figure appears to be some form of quadruped, possibly a horse with raised front leg. The hoop is elliptical with a sexfoil terminal, presumably intended as a handle to facilitate the pressing of the seal.

Dimensions:

Dimensions of bezel – 18.2x12.8mm, Dimensions of terminal – 17.0x12.8x2.7mm,

Approximate internal diameter of hoop – 15-19mm
