Title |
Lithic implement Illustration by Dom Andrews |
||
Description |
English: An Acheulian ovate handaxe, in fine condition. One end is rounded and the other has a rounded point. Both faces have been shaped equally, with a rough finish. He artefact is roughly oval in cross-section. The edges appear to have originally been sharp all of the way around. The whole artefact has been subject to gentle wear. However, on the whole, the piece is in excellent condition, with a beautiful reddish-brown colour. This artefact dates to the Lower-Middle Palaeolithic. |
