Stallings, Irving Gresham and Jacob Weinstock will join the party. The seventeenth annual flower show of the Royal Tlorists' Society, of Owings, S. C, was held November 1, at Owings. This society, starting six- teen years ago with a membership of sixteen, has grown each year until it is attracting attention from all over the state. This year the show was held in the Community building, which was built by members of the Royal Florists' Society. This same society is responsi- ble for the two churches there, and the quantity and quality of the flowers on exhibition are worthy of any profes- sional grower. An unusual feature of the Royal Florists' Society is that it is composed of ladies entirely. No man is a member and only once in the his- tory of the organization has a man been a member. This rather refutes the oft-repeated statement that the ladies cannot hold together. The Greenville Floral Co., Green- ville, S. C, will move from its present store to enlarged quarters across the street January 1, 1923. The name of the company will be changed and an- nouncement will be made shortly of this change. J. S. H. TORONTO, CAN. The Market. Business in the florists' trade is on the increase. There have been a number of large weddings lately, accompanied by largo orders for decorations. Flow- ers are becoming more plentiful. Mums are arriving in quantities and these are of good quality, except in some eases where the foliage might be im- proved. Prices are fluctuating, but the trend is upward. Several prominent men died during the week and there was a big demand for designs. One florist supplied nearly forty designs for one funeral, and this does not create a record in Toronto. Winter Fair. The talk among florists at present is the royal winter fair, to be held in the Coliseum, Exhibition park, Novem- ber 22 to 29. The florists' representa- tives on the board are G. M. Geraghty and S. A. McFadden, of the Toronto Retail Florists' Club; P. L.
