Gladiolus Childsii. Tall and erect, often standing 4 or s feet high, with spikesof bloom over 2 feet in length. In most cases each stem pro-duces 3 or 4 spikes of bloom, and bloom much earlier thanordinary varieties. The flowers are of great substance andgigantic size, frequently j to 9 inches across. The form ofboth flower and spike is perfection itself, and they last inbloom a long time before fading. Orchids cannot surpassthem in their varied and delicate shades, markings and blend-ings.
