Summary
editDescriptionFootbridge - Clendish Marsh to Carbuncle Passage.jpg |
English: We walked to a second access point to Clendish Marsh - the footbridge which spans both Watermead Way (the A1055 road) and the mainline and Victoria railway lines.
Unlike the subway a little to the south at Park View Road, the bridge restricts access to local people from Tottenham who can manage stairs. Or who use a roundabout route to take a bus along Watermead Way. § Aerial plan from Google § Google aerial view. ______________________ The crisscross white frame held a mosaic by the artist Tam Joseph, inspired by the 2012 London Olympics. (See below.) I was disappointed but not surprised that the repaired mosaic was not replaced. High on the bridge it was exposed to all weathers. I hope it'll reappear in some form in a less vulnerable place. ____________________________________ § Tam Joseph's website. § Wikipedia link to Tam Joseph. _____________________ Walk to Clendish Marsh with Martin Ball & Clive Carter on Sunday 6 March 2016. |
