Many types of Roses, produced by the crossing of several species, are of suchweak constitution and delicate growth as to prove unsuited for open groundculture. The enormous proportions which Rose growing has of late assumed forthe supply of cut flowers has also caused the annual introduction of varieties thatare eminently suited for cultivating under glass and the forcing system, but whenplanted in open ground fail to give satisfaction and bring disappointment.
