Description |
English: Incomplete Georgian or Victorian fob seal. It consists of the cast rounded rectangular amber glass seal, surrounded by a cast copper alloy . The copper alloy dome with its attached handle and fob chain are missing. The seal depicts a hatted figure with an inscription above. The more usual seal subject during this period was a classical bust or profiled head. Dates between c1700 and c1850 AD, probably c1750 to c1800. The length is 20mm, width 18mm, and the weight is 5.28g. |
