Description
English: From south across the River Clyde, this view of Glasgow has in its centre the Merchants Hall, dating from 1665. Left of it are the spires of (from left) the Tron Church, Blackfriars Church, the Old College of Glasgow University, the Tolbooth, and Glasgow Cathedral.

Perspective is inaccurate in this prospect. People on the bridge in the distance are larger than some of those closer to us and also larger than the boats on the river. In the foreground are figures of a pedlar and a dog.
