| Description |
English: Government House Sydney, located alongside the Botanical Gardens, was constructed between 1837 and 1843 and has been the official place of residence of Governors since 1845. The building was designed by Edward Blore in a Gothic Revival style, and was constructed under colonial architect Mortimer Lewis and Colonel Barney of the Royal Engineers. The Photographer, Matthew Fortescue Moresby, was an amateur photographer as well as a sketcher and clerk, whose photographs featured in an amateur photography exhibition alongside John Smith M.A., M.D. Sources: |
