English: The orchestra of a World War I entertainment group pose with their instruments. In the middle of the first row is David Alexander Kenny, a member of the Digger Pierrots (identified by a descendant). Kenny may also have been part of the first divisional troupe 'The Kiwis'. Photograph taken 25 August 1917 by Henry Armytage Sanders.

The vaudeville group the Digger Pierrots was formed in 1917 to entertain New Zealand soldiers at the Western Front during World War I. The first army troupe was The Kiwis formed after the Battle of the Somme.
