English: General-content street map showing townships, wards in Newark city, buildings in rural areas, and occupants' names in rural townships. Relief shown by hachures. Hand colored (watercolors) to distinguish municipalities and city wards. Oriented with north toward the upper right. "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1877 by J.S. Schaeffer, C.E., Newark, N.J., in the office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington." LC copy imperfect: Use-worn, darkened, fold-lined, stained at lower right, missing small section of margin at bottom. LC Land ownership maps, 449 Includes note and bar scale of 3 miles. Available also through the Library of Congress Web site as a raster image.
