English: Mike Berrigan, deputy chief defense counsel for the Office of Military Commissions, speaks to civilian media following pre-trial motions in McCalla Hangar here, July 14, 2008. Hamdan, a Yemeni, is charged with conspiracy and providing material support for terrorism. Hamdan admits to driving for al Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden in the 1990s, but claims to not have been a member of al Qaida. JTF Guantanamo conducts safe and humane care and custody of detained enemy combatants. The JTF conducts interrogation operations to collect strategic intelligence in support of the Global War on Terror and supports law enforcement and war crimes investigations. JTF Guantanamo is committed to the safety and security of American service members and civilians working inside its detention facilities.
