Elizabeth lefther borrowed horse at a stable and fell inline, though there seemed little reason forit, for the man who had staked her claimwas undoubtedly far ahead of her. Shesat for a long time clasping her kneeswith her hands and staring at the oddscene. Then her tired body asserted itsright to consideration, and lying on theground under the stars, she slept dream-lessly. The stir of the crowd wakened her atdawn.
