Photograph of a Havasupai Indian policeman, Lanoman, sitting on a blanket, ca.1900. He wears a dark vest, dark shirt, dark trousers, shoes, wide brimmed hat and a light bandana around his neck. A crest-shaped badge is pinned to the left breast of his vest. The badge reads "Indian Police" and bears the insignia of a bow and two crossed arrows. His hands rest on his widespread knees. Behind him grows wild grass, brush and a few trees.
