Description
English: Figurine head. Mould made. Symmetrical headdress, cap-like with edge following brow-line, dipping in centre above bridge of nose. The area at the front of the head rounded with a slight raised ridge on top. On each side of the head a lined lock falls diagonally to the rim line of earspools, one partly broken. One earspool with an elevated centre decoration (indent and central raised dot) survives, the other mostly missing. Arched brows, lidded and rimmed eyes, nose with flattened damaged end. Lipped open mouth with lines each side. 'Gash' on one cheek. Broken at neck. Roughly flat back. Clay pale. Traces of white pigment on front, red pigment on headdress. Reddish on back, from firing.
