GENEALOGICAL AND PERSONAL MEMOIRS. ir In 1241 members of the Schindel family tookpart in the battles against the Tartars. In 1317Frantzko \on Schindel is cited in an old docu-ment as an important witness. Martin VonSchindel died in 1446, when a student at the Uni-versity of Leipzig. Heinrich Von Schindel wasin 1518 a counsellor of Prince Munsterberg andcaptain in Steinan. Casper Von Schindel, im-perial major, was in 1546, commander of the aux-iliary troops sent to Emperor Charles V by theSilesian deputies to fight against the Turks inHungary. On 1574 Heinrich Von Schindel, inconsideration of a certain sum of money, gainedpossession of the castle and estate of Bernstadt,together with the crown lands belonging to it,and subsequently converted these into a feofif intrust.
