ilbronn, Germany, May 8. 1846, cameto America as a boy, served with an admirable rec-ord during the Civil war, then was in business inNew York City, and from there came to the westwith other early settlers and has since been con-nected with business affairs until his retirement afew years ago. Mr. Adelmanns home is now inBoise City. He has been connected with severalimportant branches of the public activities of thiscity. At the age of eight years, Mr. Adelmann with hisparents left Heilbronn in Wurtemberg, Germany,and came to America in June, 1854. his parentssettling in New York City. In 1857 his most be-loved mother departed this life. From then on hewas thrown on his own resources. He had hisfather, John P. Adelmann. come from New YorkCity in 1875, who had a home with him until hisdemise in 1891. He continued his education in Eng-lish and German, until the outbreak of the Civil war.at which time, like many other of his countrymen,lie offered his services for the preservation of the
