Mr. Fisher becameknown throughout the state as the owner of some ofthe best known thoroughbred race horses in thenorthwest. From very early years, Mr. Fisher has been anactive worker in the Church of Jesus Christ ofLatter Day Saints. In 1893, seven weeks after hismarriage, he left his home on a mission to the Sand-wich Islands, where for three years he labored inthe interest of the natives, and where after a shorttime he was joined by his wife, who became a teach-er in the government schools. While in the Hawai-ian islands iMr. Fisher visited the leper settlement onthe island of )Molokai. After this experience in theservice of humanity, Mr. Fisher returned home, andjoined his brother in the stock business, which theycontinued together until 1898. The Democratic committee then offeredhim the same honor, which he accepted, and waselected by the largest majority ever polled by acandidatefor this office in this district. He servedin the tifth legislature after which he returned toprivate life. During 1900 Mr. Fisher was principalof the Woodruff high school at Logan, Utah, andsince that time his varied business affairs have occu-pied his attention. Mr. Fisher was for some time one of the agents ofthe Consolidated Wagon and Machine Company,and resigned to take a similar post with the StevensImplement Company, for whom his field of workassigned was the territory from Logan, Utah, toSouthern Idaho. It was this business whichbrought him to Bancroft, and here his acquaintancesoon led to his taking the position of manager inthe Dolbeer Store. From that he became managerfor Ira Call, and
