: Copper alloy

Hooked tag. Cast tag with a plate with paired circular loops above the relief representation of a scallop shell. A hook is bent behind the plate. Though this object class is a common find, this design is unusual, both for the motif and for paired circular loops in the place of a single rectangular loop. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1600.

Length: 27.4mm, Width: 14.5mm, Thickness: 2.1mm, Weight: 3.09gms.
