St.Louis is the terminus of a branchof the electric line to Minnetonkaand it may also be reached by theMinneapolis & St. Louis Ry,which passes near and skirtingthe shore reaches Excelsior. At Excelsior there are a numberof good hotels and many summerboarding houses; cottages aboundat every point on the lower lake.The upper lake is less accessibleand more beautiful and romantic.The railroad stations are SpringPark and Mound. Small steamersmeet the trains and convey passen-gers to Shady Isle, ZumbraHeights, and various private land-ings. During the summer there ismuch gaiety at the lake.
