Notes: This private scrip was issued in Port Caddo by I. A. Wadsworth. The left border comprises three ovals. The top is of a steamship, the middle is the bust of a gentleman, and the bottom is of mountains and a body of water. A decorative border is printed along the top, bottom, and right edges of the note. The phrase TWO BITS. is printed within the right border design. A vignette of an eagle and a shield appears in the upper-center of the note. The number 25 is printed in a box design to the left of the eagle; the phrase TWO BITS. is printed in a box design to the right. The abbreviation No. is printed in the upper-left and -right corners; the number 84 is handwritten adjacent to them. The note is payable in Port Caddo, Texas, or Shreveport, Louisiana. The following imprint appears in the lower-left corner of the note: L. Dillard & Co. Print, New-Orleans [sic]. The month, day, and last digit of the year are handwritten towards the lower-right corner; the first three digits of the year are printed. The note is signed on the recto by I. A. Wadsworth.
