Invested with acrackled cream-colored glaze stopping short of the base and deco-rated, in lust red brown and blue, as to the body and shoulderwith three bands of Arabic inscriptions in brown and two bandsof interlacements and spirals in white reserve, and as to the neck,with a band of Arabic inscription. Silvery iridescence. (Slightlyrestored.) Second and Last Afternoon No. 283 RHAGES LUSTRED FAIENCE BOWL (Twelfth Century) Height, 3% inches; diameter, 6% inches Straight-sided coupe shape. Invested with a yellow glaze anddecorated, as to the interior, with a band of cursive inscriptionsaround the rim in blue surrounded by a scrolled and palm-leafpattern in yellow reserve.
