Title
Illustration of Palaeolithic flint biface by Jon Cotton
Description
English: A Palaeolithic flint biface dating 400,000 - 10,000BC. This biface is triangular in plan with a rounded butt and rounded tip. There is some irregularity in the flint at the butt which seems to be eroded fossils. Flake removal scars cover both the dorsal and ventral surfaces. Approximately midway along the left hand edge there is curved indent with further retouch which has been worked from the dorsal surface. There is also some more modern edge damage. The flint has a brown/dark grey patina.

Dimensions: length: 96.48 mm; width: 70.50mm; thickness: 28.98mm; weight: 178.84g.
